Finding Your Fox ESS API Key

To connect EnergyDroid to your Fox ESS inverter, you'll need your Fox ESS API key. Follow the steps below to find it.

Steps

  1. Open developer-eu.foxesscloud.com/login in a browser
  2. Enter your normal user name and password for FoxCloud (don't use the option to sign up as an independent developer)
  3. Once you have signed in, click API Keys in the left hand menu. The API Keys option will only be available if you signed in using your normal account and not a developer account
  4. Click the + Generate key button
  5. Click the Copy button or the icon of an eye
  6. In the Verify your password dialogue box, enter your account password
  7. The API key will be copied to your clipboard (if you clicked Copy) or shown on the webpage (if you clicked the eye icon)
